Suggestions are welcome

If you have a big smart mind you might come up with suggestions for TwitterInclude. Don’t let anyone stop you and post a comment in this post with your suggestion. All suggestions are read and are welcome.

Please post the bugs you found

Feel free to add a comment to this post when you found a big or a small bug. A bug is a mistake in a program that will make the program function incorrectly. I think you already knew that ;-)

My server is online!

It was a lot of work, but the server is now working. I ordered it yesterday and it came online this morning. But it didn’t have the promo code and the control panel wasn’t installed. I contacted support and they setup a new server within 1 hour.  Shame this server also didn’t have the control panel installed. After a bit communicating with support they installed the control panel by hand.

Now it is ready for me to start installing software (apache, mysql, php, and so on)

TwitterInclude control panel screenshots

The first screenshots, a sneak preview:

twitinc twitinc2

twitterinclude.com

I registered this domain name a few days ago, just to be sure no one else registered it ;-) I had that once with a big project, i had the domain name in my head for months and when the project was finished and i wanted to register the domain name someone else already took it. Aargh!

Got myself a server

One hour ago i got my self a dedicated server, not a big one, but a small one that will get my project started.

I’m now waiting until the server goes online, the OS and control panel need to be installed by the hoster. Lets hope it is up soon.

TwitterInclude website

Yesterday evening i sat down and programmed the website and the control panel for twitterinclude. The control panel was easy, cause you only need to change the html that you want to appear in Twitters sidebar. Although the binding of twitter.com and twitterinclude.com accounts was a bit harder. Harder to make it not overload the server ;-)

Most of the time i spend on the choice that people have when they visit the site:
- download the extension (for surfers)
- register account to change your Twitter sidebar

But it is done.

Firefox extension running

I managed to create a firefox extension that will help me accomplish the goals set by TwitterInclude. It was actually quite easy, just some javascript and a couple xml formatted files and everything works. Firefox extensions (simple ones i guess) are quite easy to make.

TwitterInclude

With my new project twitterinclude you can customize your sidebar on your Twitter.com Profile. The reason behind this project was that i found no way to customize my sidebar on Twitter. I find it strange that it isn’t possible. Lucky TwitterInclude will be online soon.
